Alma redemptoris mater

In 1912 De Vocht became the choirmaster of the choir of the Antwerp cathedral, where he himself had been a chorister. The fourteen Cantica (= Hymns) for three equal voices and organ ad libitum probably originate from that period. It is a collection of fresh motets, also suitable for children's voices, that can be sung at various moments during the liturgical year. Almost half of the collection is dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
